Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to common questions about our services, installation, and products.

How long does window film last?

Our window films are designed for long-lasting performance. Most residential and commercial films last between 10–20 years, and many can last even longer with proper care. Factors such as sun exposure, window orientation, and film type can influence longevity; however we only use high-quality films paired with professional installation to ensure maximum durability.

Is there a warranty on film?

Yes, we do offer a warranty on all professionally installed window film. Our films are backed by a manufacturer warranty, and our installation is guaranteed to be free from bubbling, peeling, or lifting. If any issues arise within the warranty period, we’ll take care of it — ensuring your film performs exactly as it should.

Does the film go on the inside or the outside of the window?

Window film is almost always installed on the inside of the glass. Interior installation protects the film from weather, ensures a longer lifespan, and keeps it performing at its best. In some special cases—such as certain commercial buildings, skylights, or situations where interior access isn’t possible—there are exterior-grade films designed specifically for outdoor use. For most homes and businesses, though, the film is applied to the inside surface of the window for maximum durability and clarity.

Will solar film save me money?

Yes! Installing high-performance solar window film is a smart way to reduce your heating and cooling bills, improve comfort and protect your interiors — without replacing your windows. In many cases, homeowners see reduced air-conditioning use by 10-15% (or more in high-sun exposure areas), and over the years the savings add up. Especially for homes with large glass areas or older windows, the film pays for itself — often within a few years. We use premium film brands, professionally installed, to ensure the best performance and long lifespan.

Is window film safe for double-pane or Low-E windows?

Yes, window film is safe for double-pane and Low-E windows when the correct film is used. Modern films are specifically designed to work with today’s insulated glass units without causing seal failure, fogging, or thermal stress. The key is choosing a film that’s compatible with your window type and letting a trained installer apply it properly. We assess your glass, coatings, and sun exposure before installation to ensure the film performs safely and effectively. When matched correctly, window film enhances comfort, reduces heat and glare, and protects your interiors without any risk to your windows.

Can window film be removed if  I want to?

Yes, window film can be removed, but we highly recommend having it done by a professional. Proper removal ensures the film and adhesive come off cleanly without damaging the glass or leaving residue behind. Our team uses the right tools and techniques to protect your windows and achieve a smooth, safe removal.

Does window film help with glare on screens and TVs?

Yes, window film is one of the most effective ways to reduce glare on screens and TVs. By controlling how much sunlight enters the room, the film softens harsh light without darkening your space. This makes it easier to watch TV, work on computers, or use devices during the day. High-performance films cut glare significantly while still keeping the room bright and comfortable, creating a more enjoyable viewing experience without needing to close blinds or curtains.

How do I choose the right type of film for my home or business?

Choosing the right window film depends on your goals, your space, and your window type. We start by asking what you want to improve—heat, glare, privacy, security, or aesthetics. From there, we look at your windows, sun exposure, and any existing coatings such as Low-E glass. Different films are designed for different needs: solar films reduce heat and glare, privacy films create daytime privacy, decorative films add style, and security films strengthen glass. During a consultation, we assess your home or business, explain your options, and recommend the film that will give you the best performance and value. Our goal is to match you with the perfect solution based on comfort, efficiency, and your overall vision.

Can window film be cleaned the same way as regular glass?

Yes, window film can be cleaned much like regular glass once it has fully cured. After the first 30 days, you can clean filmed windows using a soft cloth or microfiber towel and a gentle, ammonia-free glass cleaner. Avoid using razor blades, abrasive pads, or harsh chemicals, as these can scratch the film. With proper care and simple cleaning, your window film will stay clear and looking new for many years.

Does tinting my windows make the house dark?

Tinting your windows does not have to make your home dark. Modern window films are designed to reduce heat and glare without blocking natural light. Many high-performance films are virtually clear or only lightly tinted, so you still get bright rooms while cutting down on heat, UV rays, and fading. Darker films are available if someone wants extra privacy or a shaded look, but most homeowners choose films that keep their space bright and comfortable. The right film will improve your home’s comfort and efficiency without making it feel dim.

How long does it take to dry after installation?

Window film generally takes between 30 and 90 days to fully dry and cure. During this time, it’s completely normal for the film to appear slightly hazy or to show small bubbles as moisture slowly evaporates from between the glass and the film. The film will begin to set within the first 24 to 48 hours, but full clarity and performance develop over the next several weeks, especially in cooler weather when curing can take a bit longer. It’s best to avoid cleaning the film for the first 30 days to allow it to bond properly to the glass. Once cured, the film will look clear, smooth, and perform exactly as intended.

Will security film protect my home?

Security film won’t make your windows bulletproof, but it adds a powerful layer of protection that keeps the glass intact even if it’s struck. Most burglars won’t wait around — if the glass doesn’t break immediately, they move on. Security film buys you time, prevents easy access, and adds peace of mind while keeping your home looking open and bright.
